MADE OF
Most potting soil you buy in a garden center is comprised of three basic ingredients: peat moss, pine bark, perlite, and compost.
HOW TO USE
- Select the pot with proper drainage.
- Fill the bottom 1/3 of the pot with potting mix and gently loosen your root ball before placing it in the pot.
- Fill the remaining space with potting mix, then lightly press it down.
- Make sure you leave about an inch of space at the top so you can easily water.
BENEFITS
Some potting mixes for ferns include fertilizers, compost, worm castings, or bone meal to provide essential nutrients. Ingredients like peat moss and pine bark improve soil texture, aeration, and water retention. Fresh potting mix reduces the chances of fungal infections and root diseases. Perlite and bark help prevent waterlogging, keeping fern roots healthy.
